Inmates Cash in on Prison Phone Glitch →
From Arelis R. Hernández at the Orlando Sentinel comes a hilariously idiotic story of a jail in Lake County, Florida, where rather than having money withdrawn from their accounts, inmates were paid to make phone calls. So much so that one man bonded out after making 77 calls and having $1,250 deposited into his account. He ended up turning himself in a few hours later.

The amount of plagiarism is shocking. Jericho found that 99.3% of the words in Spyware Reference & Study Guide, by Gregory D. Evans, are plagiarized—that’s 320 out of 322 pages, with the author copying up to 100 straight pages at a time—as is 95% of Evans’s How to Become the World’s No. 1 Hacker.

The History of Dialogue: Other People's Papers

This is a dialogue between Teach, an adjunct philosophy instructor at a public university in New York, and Cheat, who has authored over 100 papers for pay.
Teach: In my philosophy class of 36 students I had six instances of plagiarism. I ended up turning them all in to the Committee on Academic Standing.
Cheat: Do you remember how they plagiarized?

If I pulled out my tampon and used it to sign headshots on the corner of Hollywood and Highland, I would be arrested and put on involuntary psychiatric hold.
If Marina Abramović did the same thing, she would be hailed a genius and get another write up in The New Yorker.
These are the things I think about when I’m stuck in traffic.
